Campbell Live final episode most watched in show's history

The final episode of Campbell Live scored the show its highest ever ratings, exceeding its target of 500,000 viewers.

Campbell Live's swan song screened on Friday night, barely a week after MediaWorks announced it was axing the show.

The show had appealed to the public to watch the episode, hoping for 500,000 viewers.

Ratings from television website throng.co.nz show that 484,850 watched the 7pm show, plus another 48,120 an hour later on +1.

That made Campbell Live the most watched show on TV3 not only for that night, but for the year so far.

The Campbell Live Twitter account tweeted that it was the show's most watched episode in its 10-year history.

Rival Seven Sharp on TV ONE received 411,580 viewers.
