The Simpsons have taken a swipe at Mitt Romney in their latest promo, pointing aim at some of his most publicised gaffes over the course of the presidential campaign.
In a promo due to air on Sunday (local time) in the United States, Mr Burns gives his endorsement to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, saying "there's only one thing that might deny us the presidency, that is the god-given right of the Republican party".
"It's a shaggy dog story about an actual shaggy dog."
In a satirical rehash of one of Romney's earliest slip-ups, viewers are reminded of the woeful tale of Seamus - the Romney family's Irish Setter which ran away after being tied to the roof of the family car.
But that is only one of the many gaffes that have plagued the Romney campaign.
Burns brushes aside all of Smithers' suggestions, such as "the tax returns that Wesley Snipes would call suspicious", [Romney's exclamation that] "I like to fire people", and revelations the Governor has hundreds of funds organised in the Cayman Islands.
