WWE Superstar Sheamus was top of the fight card the last time WWE came to New Zealand.

It's all on for Christchurch. Pro-wrestling fans have been given something to look forward to with a WWE showdown later this year.

On the back of its first New Zealand event in five years, WWE announced a 2017 return for Christchurch.

WWE star Sheamus would be making his return, alongside a long list of pro-wrestling celebrities.

Women's Champion Bayley, Sasha Banks and Charlotte had also been booked in for the Christchurch in September.

In 2016, WWE held its New Zealand comeback at Vector Arena in Auckland.

WWE have announced a 2017 New Zealand show, featuring wrestler Roman Reigns (R).

Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Enzo & Big Cass, Tag Team Champions Gallows & Anderson, Braun Strowman, The New Day and Finn Balor would also be making the trip this year, WWE said in a statement.

The WWE Live event was scheduled for September 13 at Horncastle Arena.

A ticket pre-sale would start on Wednesday, with general release tickets going on sale from next week.

The WWE Live event will be staged in Christchurch this September.
