NEW FAN: Lorde performs on the Ellen Show.
Chart-topping New Zealand singer Lorde has made her daytime television debut on the Ellen show, performing her hit song Royals.
The 16-year-old's song is still top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart, beating out Katy Perry's Roar for the second week in a row.
Host Ellen Degeneres complimented the singer after her three-minute set, saying "God, I love you".
She also made comparisons between the teen's big achievements with her own as a teenager.
"[Lorde] is only 16 years old and has the No 1 song in the country," Degeneres said.
"When I was 16, my best friend was a blanket called Tammy".
The pop star is touring the States to promote her new album Pure Heroine, which debuted at No 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and now sits at No 31.
