The 17-year-old Aucklander, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, had the crowd in the palm of her hand as she rocked in front of the biggest audience of her career, the Daily Mail reported.
Lorde kicked off her set with Bravado and Glory and Gore before launching into her break-out hit Royals in the middle of the show.
The singer, who wore white pants and a black top on stage has recently shared her love for pants with Canadian fashion mag Fashion.
"Jackets and pants are my power clothes," she said.
"I agree with Annie Lennox when she said, 'wearing a suit is like wearing armour'.
"I wore pants and a shirt at the Grammys because it made me feel confident. I remember looking at early photos of Patti Smith when she was wearing those men's shirts she chopped off at the sleeve. That, to me, is the strongest look in the world."
