AB/CD
Last week I went to see AC/DC - I really enjoyed the show and thought I pointed that out with this review.
But you will see from some (most) of the comments there that I was not on the same page as the fans.
Readers of this blog (hi Mum!) will know that last week I also wrote a post called AccaDacca - an attempt to point out that I was a bit of a fan - had been a fan, on and off, for a few years. An attempt, really, to document the way I had been introduced to some of the band's albums, highlighting some favourite moments.
Someone was brave enough to try to point this out to the comment-makers posting under the gig review.
But it was lost.
So it's time to simplify - I present now a review for the AC/DC fans. I hope this keeps them happy:
AC/DC IS THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD! The band proofed this with evry single song they playes on Thursday and then again on Saturday. To get too go too two gigs was awesum. Angus Young is A GOD ON THE GEE-TAR. He was goin nuts. He played the BEST guitar solos in the world eva! He was so good & he stripped down out of his uniform to tease the crowd - not that I am gay or anyfin - and he was awesum! LOL. Phil Rudd was smokin heaps of durries while stompin out the grooves too heaps of the best songs in the whole world. He was da man. And they played THUNDERSTRUCK! And it was massive. I was so so in to this gig - best ever - best band in the WORLD eva eva! LOL! ZOMG!!! Totes. <3 the AccaDacca - mean-as. The bestest nite in my life. Rulez. Hard.
I do hope that clears things up for those confused by the earlier review. It was written in an awful hurry, while the gig was still going...in an effort to make the newspaper the following day.
My apologies.

Lol - good on ya Simon :-)
You gave ACDC a great review in the paper, don't know what all the fuss is about. It was a great show, but I think most people have forgotten they had another lead singer, who was better. Bring back Bon.
OMG ROFL...
Brilliant.....once again, people don't want to hear what you thought of the show, they want you to write what they thought. I wasn't at the show, but while I enjoy the band, I don't enjoy some of their fans. You it the nail on the head there. I am expecting more bogans to jump in and tell us all what they think!
I always wondered if people go nuts over Bon Scott because he was *that much* better, or is it just cause he's dead?
Not saying he wasn't an awesome singer/frontman, but I think the idea/memory of Bon Scott is greater than he actually was, and the sadness of him passing in his prime clouds everyone's memory.
*ducks and runs*
I got free tickets to the Saturday show and went. I really wanted to see Shihad because they got named NZ's best live act ... well, they aren't really that great live! They just stood there and played. So what constitutes "best live act?' Having a bunch of guys stand there and sound good or having a bunch of guys with an actual stage show? I've seen heaps of better local bands than Shihad, the only difference being people know Shihad songs because they've been over exposed to them.
Anyway, I'm a sort of fan of AC/DC but often find their songs sound the same, but let me tell ya; their show was AWESOME!! And I mean show, they didn't just stand there and play, they put on a fantastic show for the "great unwashed" And I loved it!!
Good to see you've learnt proper blog comment protocol with your spelling and grammar. must've taken reading through the comments on a lot of your negative blogs to get up to that standard.
Genius. I think the point here is like U2 the other day, a band of such prodigious longevity as AC/DC are going to have flat spots in their career (if not flat decades).
Live on the other hand you are likely to get exactly what you want, all the monster hits with a few of the latest thrown in. You don't have to like everything they have every done to get a buzz from the gig, because if you don't like what they are playing right now there will be another one along in 3 1/2 minutes.
I just re-read your review and cant find much any fan would get up and arms about, you only criticism came in the form of, 'started the trend of the crowd-energy waning slightly whenever new songs were played' Now, taken out of context that would seem to slate the show, in the body of the whole piece it makes for much better reading. Although, you do have the habit of taking things out of context to justify your view. You have previously commented 'infinity is a great place to start”, as an example of a terrible lyric, perhaps in the context 'I know a girl, hole in her heart, she said infinity is a great place to start', followed by 'Time is irrelavant, its not linear', the lyric recieves a great deal of weight. very selective examination.

So, Simon, did you enjoy the concert? There wasn't enough actual information to determine such after one removed all the sarcasm ...
Heh.
