Meat Loaf interview: teaser

The following are five questions that I could have asked Meat Loaf to send him over the edge:
1) Jim Steinman said he is the one with all of the talent behind the album Bat Out Of Hell. What are your thoughts on this?
2) Why did you release an album under the name Andrew WK?
3) Why is it that you have released two kinds of albums - ones with Bat in the title that sell - and ones that don't and, erm, don't?
4) Ever thought of releasing a single that runs for less than six minutes?
5) Just what exactly won't you do for love?
This is the one that did it:
Tell me about your new album...
Yes, yesterday I spoke with Mr Loaf. And he was hilarious. And full on. And intense. Find out in a couple of weeks...I'll be writing the interview up for a Blog On The Tracks post.
Meanwhile - are you a fan of anything Meat Loaf has done? His acting? Bat Out Of Hell? The albums in between Bat Out Of Hell sequels? What are your favourite (or least favourite) Meat Loaf songs?
And who is with me in thinking this is the best Meat Loaf song never recorded by Meat? And that this is the best Meat Loaf song recorded far too late by Mr Loaf?

looking foward to the album and interested to hear the hugh laurie's input... meat is a legend.
I thought he was great in Fight Club.
1) No 2) No 3) No 4) God no 5) the only thing good about meatloaf is its great covered in Tomato sauce (& not the runny Watties stuff either) & thats all I will say here doesnt answer the question but you should already get my drift
I don't know. He's either a genius or insane. Or possibly both. You can't beat the original Bat, but I have a big soft spot for More Than You Deserve off Dead Ringer.
I thought he was superb in The Rocky Horror Picture Show!! And they ate him!!
Ole Marvin. I like the way he brings theatrics into his music ... his songs are like interweaving acts in a show or chapters in a book. I only had Bat out of Hell (I and II) and thought they were ok, he does have a few "anthem" type songs! But good on him, he's done pretty well for himself!
Meat Loaf is epic... provided you are in the right mood. I regularly skip Meat Loaf's songs on my iPod but they can be perfect if I'm in the right mood. Meatloaf is average without Steinman and Steinman is average without Meatloaf. Would've been interesting to see if they would've managed to release more hit songs if they hadn't had their fallings out.
Yeah... he was great as "Bob" in Fight Club. I saw an interview with him years ago where he said he considered himself an actor first and a recording artist second. He said he makes way more money from his movies than his music. No surprise really.
heh.. nice one with the Andrew W. K. question.. I'm assuming you refer to "Close calls with brick walls"? IMO a rather under-rated album, where W.K. goes from just being Def Leppard on P, to being Jim Steinman-meets-Marylin Manson on P.
