Worst of the worst?
Just as we're about to plunge feet first into the awards-fest that is the Oscars ceremony (with the nominees just announced), the Razzie Awards rear up to remind us that Sandra Bullock may just have turned in the best and worst work of her life ... (think All About Steve and The Blind Side - which hasn't screened in NZ yet but is tipped to win her an Oscar).
At least her best and worst performances weren't in the same film. Pity poor R.Pattz, who may well have sent girls' hearts aflutter around the world (bite me!) but seems to have peaked too early by Twi-ing a bit hard. He's up for his first Razzy award...
Looks like an incredibly tough race for the special categories of worst film/actor/actress of the decade... (see below).
Such a shame they can't all win... oh the hours I've spent in their excruciating company over the last decade, unable to walk out of the cinema due to my reviewing responsibilities - searing my eyeballs and bruising my brain cells so that yours might live...
I can never completely expunge the image of the virginal (surely unintentionally Freudian) Jonas Bros gleefully spraying foam all over the concert crowd of screaming, squirming girls... oh for a return to my once sunshiney spotless mind...

I'm pleased with this list, especially with Twilight, Transformers 2 and their actors being included. I do feel the following deserve an honourable mention however; Epic Movie, Date Movie, Disaster Movie, The Hangover (yes I said it) and Book Of Eli.
Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds - a lay-down misere for worst actor. An utterly risible performance.
The happening... i get angry just thinking about how bad that film was.
@ Genesis #2 - yes The Hangover was awful! I only saw it cos a guy I liked wanted to see it. I can't really comment on the Razzie nominations as I avoided seeing all those movies for a very good reason!
I'm stoked you've included Michael Bay as worst director Margaret. I've never seen him produce anything but howlers.
I'm going to court controversy by nominating James Cameron (Worst director) for the attack of the pocohontas-esque 12 foot smurfs... whoops. I mean Avatard.
Van Helsing (2004)! It was a train wreck of a film. The best scene was a re-creation of the closing scenes from 1931 Frankenstein, and the film went downhill from there! I remember watching it on late night TV as I was packing for an early flight to Oz. It was riveting because it was SO bad. They had everything in there but the kitchen sink (and maybe they did but I missed it). And that closing scene! Oh my!
Freddy Got Fingered worst film of the decade?!? That movie was comedy gold!
@Random #8
I love my brainless stupid fims, but even I raised an eyebrow at Freddy Got Fingered. Its incoherence was matched only by its grotesqueness.
re Que?
yea coz the Avatars are blue and smurfs are blue... witty.

2012 surpassed even Trannies 2 for sheer stupidity. I got the giggles at "The neutrinos are mutating!" and it just got stupider from there on in. I wanted to leave when Woody Harrelson finished his scene stealing performance - but wasn't allowed to.
