Kiwi millionaire businessman Eric Watson set tongues wagging after he was seen out on the town with British model and actress Kelly Brook.

Watson, who recently turned 50, was photographed with the 29-year-old leaving Zuma restaurant in Knightsbridge, London.

It was unclear why Brook - who is dating England rugby star Danny Cipriani - was with Watson, but after dinner the pair headed to Aspinalls Casino and then Annabel's Club, British tabloids reported.

Watson, a key shareholder in troubled Hanover Finance, made headlines at the same restaurant in 2002 after allegedly exchanging blows with Kiwi-born actor Russell Crowe in a row over sport.

The Daily Mail reported Brook "looked typically radiant in a floral dress with a plunging neckline, teamed with a bright red coat" while Watson, worth around $520 million in a 2007 rich list, wore casual jeans and a jacket.

Onlookers said they left in the same car before the model, who was axed from the Britain's Got Talent judging line-up in January, was dropped off at her home.

The newspaper reported Watson celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this month with a lavish Thirties-themed party at Istanbul's Sickert station, the original home of the Orient Express.
