Brad Pitt has hinted he wants to quit acting.

The 45-year-old actor - who raises six children with partner Angelina Jolie - feels he has achieved almost everything he wants to do in his career and doesn't believe there are as many possibilities for him as he gets older.

He said: "I think acting is a younger man's game; there are fewer interesting parts for older people and we all get older. But I feel like I've done it. I've kind of had my time and that's quite freeing.

"Of course there are still acting dreams left for me. But I'll do them first and then we'll talk about them."

Brad and Angelina - who have homes in France, California and New Orleans - move their family with them wherever in the world they are working on a movie and the 'Inglourious Basterds' star insists it is a lifestyle with many benefits for their children.

He explained:  "Everywhere is interesting in its own way, each place has its own feel and something to offer: you pick up something, the kids are picking up something. They have this world view which we are very proud and happy that we are able to provide.

"We get peace in our lives. We got out here a couple of days early with the family and we get to hang out in a place in Provence. We're pretty good at it. You carve out that time for the family. Do we get a little silence with the kids? No, not that kind of silence - silence is over at home, but we like that chaos."

Why shoud we be gutted if he doesn't do any more acting. It will be no great loss, there will be someone ready to step in probably someone who can do orignal films and not remakes of originals...

Wish I had the choice and money to retire at 45!

Whats with people supporting this?! Although I too get sick of hearing about him, that is about his personal life. He is a great actor, and has some been in some really good films! Fight Club, Seven, Snatch etc etc

Would I be upset if Brad Pitt retired? No, not at all. Everyone has a right to retire or change jobs. He's made some good movies, but I can certainly live quite happily without seeing him again. Even my beloved Johnny Depp will quit one day, leaving behind good memories for all movie goers.

As long as he is happy with Angelina & his family and having a fulfilling live, no I'm not upset. But will miss him though.
