Former Hutt Valley child star Anna Paquin says she has no regrets when it comes to baring all on the television series True Blood.
The 27-year-old told US pop culture magazine Nylon that nude sex scenes are one way she brings a dose of reality to the vampire drama.
"I'm sorry, maybe there are women who keep their bras on while they have sex," Paquin told the magazine: "I don't happen to be one of them."
The New Zealand actress - who was 11 when she won an Oscar in 1993, as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Piano - said she didn't understand why some find nudity a cause for concern.
"I don't think a naked body is particularly shocking or interesting," Paquin said.
"It's not the culture I was raised in. I was not brought up in the United States. I don't share the (attitude) that you can have graphic violence, but God forbid you see someone's nipples."
Paquin announced earlier this month she will marry her True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer.
This year she won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series/Drama for her performance as telepathic Sookie Stackhouse in the vampire series.
Moyer, 39, from Essex, England, plays bloodsucking Bill Compton in the series.
