Controversial beauty queen Carrie Prejean is being sued by organisers of the Miss California USA pageant in a bid to recover money given to her for breast implants, it has been reported.
Organisers want US$5200 (NZ$7006) given to Prejean in January for the breast augmentation operation returned, according to news agency MCT.
The legal action is a countersuit to legal action by Prejean, and also seeks proceeds from a book Prejean is writing.
Prejean won the Miss California crown last year, got the implants and competed in the national competition, where she came second.
But she lost her Miss California crown on June 10 for alleged contract violations, inlcuding missing scheduled appearances and signing an unauthorised book contract.
She was involved in a string of controversies, including a series of topless photos and her outspoken opposition to gay marriage.
Pageant organisers claimed Prejean verbally promised to pay back the money for breast implants, the New York Post reported.
