Janet Jackson says she recognised her brother Michael's drug problem, and tried to help, but says he rebuffed her attempts to intervene.

She says her brother realised the whole family wanted to help him kick his habit, but that he wasn't ready to acknowledge he had a problem.

"You can't make 'em drink the water," Jackson told ABC News in a television interview.

She blamed Dr Conrad Murray for Michael Jackson's death.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles are weighing charges against Murray, the singer's personal physician, who told police he administered a powerful anesthetic to Jackson shortly before he died on June 25.
