Authorities on New York's Long Island say Lindsay Lohan's father is accused of violating an order of protection by calling his estranged girlfriend.
Suffolk County prosecutors say Michael Lohan was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor charge of criminal contempt. They say the alleged phone call was made on Sunday morning.
In June, a judge said Michael Lohan would avoid prosecution on a misdemeanor charge of aggravated harassment if he stayed out of trouble for a year. Lohan denied that he threatened to kill his girlfriend and himself if she left him.
Lohan's attorney did not immediately return calls for comment. Newsday reports his ex-wife, Dina Lohan, has had a restraining order against him dating back to 2005.
The actress reportedly is estranged from her father.
