Russell Crowe can’t stop coughing since he quit smoking two days ago.
The 46-year-old actor threw out all his cigarettes on Sunday evening and hasn’t smoked since. He found the first 24 nicotine-free hours easy, but has been struggling since.
He is using nicotine patches, inhalers and gum but is still finding is incredibly difficult to stay away from cigarettes.
"Day 2 has been much harder than yesterday. My skin is really salty and I'm coughing a lot. Patch's,inhaler, gum I've got all the crutch's (sic)," Russell wrote on his Twitter page.
Russell has been amazed by how often he thinks about smoking. Since quitting he finds himself constantly reaching for his lighter and ashtrays, even though he has no use for them.
He has now decided to quit drinking coffee too, to improve his health.
"odd subconcious things, moving ashtrays closer to me. Checking my pockets for lighters. Just have to stay with it .Thanks for your kindness (sic)," he wrote.
"Stopped coffee yesterday as well.Associate the two directly so beloved coffee got the boot aswell. I'm a tea drinker again. Care for a cuppa? (sic)."
