OUT OF BREATH: Carly Flynn admits she's struggling for energy as she nears the end of her first pregnancy.

She's eight months pregnant and recently lost her job as the host of TV3's defunct morning news show Sunrise. So you'd think Carly Flynn would have time to relax, drink some tea and wait for her baby belly to blow.

But, as she tells this week's Woman's Day, Flynn is suffering from low blood pressure and a chest infection as she juggles nesting, house renovations and a new job at The Breeze as she and hubby Dave prepare for the arrival of their first child together.

"I'm so tired all the time - my blood pressure is about 80 over 50, which is really low," Flynn, 32, tells WD. "I'm so weak that I can barely speak if I climb a flight of stairs."

Consider yourself lucky she gathered enough breath to get that sentence out.

With all that going on, undertaking major house renovations - including a new office and bathroom - is probably the last thing Flynn should be undertaking.

"At 32 weeks' pregnant I decided it was time to get a new bathroom. Now we've got building dust all through the house and no washing machine for two weeks," Flynn says.

"I'm just hoping this baby stays in there for long enough so all the building is done and I actually get time to put my feet up and rest a bit."

Somebody warn the baby to steer clear of Flynn's teddy bear with no nose. He's scary. And how does he smell anything?

Meanwhile, Kate Hawkesby and her million-dollar dad John pair up for a four-page feature in Woman's Weekly, discussing their best tips to become celebrity newsreaders.

Having sparkling pearly whites is important, apparently.

"I'll always remember one crazy bit of advice (John) used to give us, which was, 'Brush your teeth'," Kate tells WW. "That's always pretty much been dad's big mantra with us all our lives: 'Clean your teeth and you'll feel good about yourself'."

Brushing's good, but only floss will get rid of that pesky spinach.

Elsewhere, three All Blacks offer up their style secrets to WD with disastrous consequences.

Out of Jimmy Cowan, Ma'a Nonu and Jerome Kaino, the only one with a beauty regime is Cowan, who likes to use a facial wash and moisturiser. So that's how he gets his cheeks so smooth.

Kaino admits getting his hair cut every two months, but Nonu refuses to admit wearing - as has been rumoured in the past - eyeliner during games, skirting the issue by saying he simply "gets up and goes".

What, no shower? Are you flatting with Carly Flynn?

Finally, the quote of the week comes from Chloe from Wainuiomata: "I do wish I hadn't gone out night-clubbing so much when the children were little."

Wait, what? Wainuiomata has nightclubs? It's hipper than we thought.

Ha ha.....I can't recall any nightclub/s being in Wainui....just garage parties (P***-ups!) and the odd "do" at the Rugby Clubrooms or at the "Chuck- a- jug"

My 2 cents worth   #15   11:10 am Jun 11 2010

@ Ange - let me help, your 'corrective' comments was full of errors, teacher is right, you said his/her 'comments' he/she only commented once which makes it a comment!

@ Ange was right too - English is always with a capital E.

Now for my own two cents worth, Ange, when all you have to say is centred around a spelling mistake or typo, you leave yourself whide open. I found nothing in Teachers comment that would warrant your reply - I actually giggled.

Oh and to comment 'on topic' I totally agree - Carly is wasted on Radio.

Teacher - I didnt say you didnt comment, perhaps you need reading classes also? I simply put to you that you didnt keep to the topic at hand which is "What The Kiwi Gossip Mags Say".

To @ Ange - neither did you. If you have an opinion about the blog, them comment, if not why waste your time. Now Ive commented about the blog, have you?

Waiui is like a live social network where everyone knows everyone and in todays society that is a good thing. Sadly some blonde aka Chloe got let loose on television who was never a Waiui girl in the first place. After 30 mumble years living there its cold winters are the only let down and peoples negative comments who have never lived there.

Epic fail Ange - it is Englis, always English!

Oh dear, you going to say sorry to Teacher?

Teacher   #10   01:56 pm Jun 10 2010

@ Ange - nope no fail, you corrected me perfectly and thank you for that, shame that was all you had to say though. Better luck next time!

Oh and my comments (plural) was incorrect Ange I posted one so that makes it a comment!

Bet you feel a bit silly.

Ange   #9   01:15 pm Jun 10 2010

Teacher, before you post comments on others english writing skills, I suggest you get back to class yourself as "desperatly" is actually spelled "desperately". I also notice your comments have nothing to do with the topic at hand, so I guess that was a fail.

Teacher   #8   11:27 am Jun 10 2010

@ missy roguee - how dare you skip your English lesson to read gossip! Get back to class, you need some skills desperatly!

What is everyones facination with putting Wainui down? The town is lovely, well looked after with a great bunch of people and yes Tracy, Eddies is awesome, especially their new menu. Chris, you should stick to reporting on the topic rather than making silly snide comments on where people live.
