Brad Pitt has stolen another scene, with a sighting of the Hollywood megastar reported in the South Island.
Before being spotted at a Wellington curry house on Sunday, the actor twice crowned by People magazine as the world's sexiest man was seen in Dunedin.
Dunedin engineer Tony Plant said he saw the actor who has starred in films such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Inglourious Basterds when he left his wharf-side workshop to have a look at the navy ship Otago with daughter Emma, 15, on Birch St Wharf on Friday.
Only three other people were on the wharf, including a man wearing a bright-red cap, Mr Plant said. "As I walked past him, I looked at him and I thought, 'I know who you are'.
"You could tell who it is and I thought ... 'What do I do?' I know these people don't like to be bugged ... and I thought I'd leave him be."
Back in the factory no-one, including his daughter, believed him.
It wasn't until Pitt was also spotted in Wellington dining at Miramar restaurant Tulsi on Sunday night that he was able to rub it in.
Pitt stood out due to his "bit too good-looking" clothes and confident manner, he said.
Navy spokesman Lieutenant Sarah Campbell said they understood that Pitt was spotted while the brass band practised.
"He didn't come on to the ship or anything but he was looking at it while it was berthed at Birch St Wharf."
