Stephen Fry is hoping a haircut will stop Kiwis mistaking him for Top Gear presenter James May.
The British QI host, who was playing Master of Laketown in Sir Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, yesterday tweeted he needed the trim to avoid confusion.

"Morning all. Screen testing of wigs costumes etc today. The sooner I get my hair [cut] the better. Half NZ convinced I'm James May."
He added: "If I deny being James May then am I Jeremy Clarkson? I say neither 'but you're on Top Gear?' 'Well I've been on Top Gear'... Aah.
"A damned good haircut should end this. I'm hoping."
Fry would not tweet any information about the film because he was "sworn to utmost secrecy".
But he said the wardrobe and makeup fittings were "marvellous", and the Weta Workshop was "just about the most astounding place" he's ever visited.
