Rachel Hunter's engagement confirmed

The rumours are true - New Zealand supermodel Rachel Hunter is engaged to her boyfriend, Canadian ice hockey player Jarret Stoll, it has been confirmed.

Hunter's agent, former All Black Andy Haden, today confirmed the couple were engaged but did not know details of where or when they would be married.

Hunter, 38, is 13 years older than Stoll, 26, who plays ice hockey for the Los Angeles Kings.

Speculation has been rife since Hunter was seen sporting a large engagement ring on her finger when she visited a school in Cambridge, near Hamilton earlier this week to launch a programme to encourage more people to read to children.

Hunter and Stoll met two years ago through Hunter's son Liam, 13, a talented ice hockey player coached by Stoll.

"He's my first true love since Rod, and the age difference isn't an issue," an overseas newspaper quoted Hunter as saying.

Hunter, Stoll and Hunter's children, Liam and Renee, 16, live together in Los Angeles.

Its 10 years since Hunter split with her husband, legendary British rocker, Rod Stewart.
