Supermodel and Project Runway TV host Heidi Klum and British singer Seal have confirmed they are are separating after seven years of marriage, a parting the pair termed amicable in a statement.
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," the two said in a statement.
"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart."
The two said that protecting the well-being of their children was their top priority and asked for privacy, and thanked family and friends for their support.
The German-born Klum and Seal have four children, biological children, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2, and Klum's 7-year-old daughter Leni from her previous marriage, who Seal adopted in 2009.
Seal is promoting new album, Soul 2, and recently flew solo to New York to appear on Late Show with David Letterman. The singer then travelled to London for more work-related commitments.
