Kiwi Oscar winner Bret McKenzie has been paid the compliment of being "leg-bombed" by the right leg of an apparently furious Angelina Jolie.
McKenzie, who won the Best Original Song at the 84th Annual Academy Awards on Monday for his song Man or Muppet in The Muppets movie, has been caught up in the internet craze sparked by Jolie's thrusting pose on the red carpet. He features in at least two memes of Jolie's leg, with one showing her kicking his Oscar.
Jolie was reportedly "steamed" when people joked about her exaggerated leg pose at the Oscars.
The American star wore a black velvet Atelier Versace gown to the ceremony. It boasted a thigh-high split up the right hand side, and Angelina posed on the red carpet seemingly doing her best to thrust out her leg for photographers. The star continued to show off her pale and toned limb throughout the ceremony. She presented the best adapted screenplay prize and sexily posed with her leg on display, and her hand on her hip, while on the stage.
Her stance drew whoops from the audience, but the winners of the prize were less impressed. The Descendants' Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash picked up the prize, with Rash openly poking fun at the actress by mimicking her poses.
"Who is that guy?" Chicago Sun-Times claims Angelina said backstage.
A source added: "She was still pretty steamed but seemed to calm down quickly."
Fashion Police host Joan Rivers criticised Jolie, claiming her pose only made people see how normal the actress is.
"Angelina Jolie looked like a fool the way she posed," the comic said. "She took herself right out of that super star category because you now realise she stands in front of a mirror to figure out [what she looks like]."
Angelina's poses quickly becoming a talking point on social networking websites.
Soon after she appeared on the red carpet with her partner Brad Pitt, many started mocking her seemingly exaggerated stances. The phrase "Angelina's right leg" was soon trending on Twitter, with some users teasing the star about how keen she was to show off her limb.
Before long someone had set up a Twitter account called AngiesRightLeg, which has more than 30,000 followers.
"I'm a leg, get a load of me!!" someone wrote on the account.
"You have to admit I'm one hell of a leg Left leg and I talked - everything's cool. Next Oscars, she gets the slit."
