Meet Doug Pitt.
He's your 'average American family man' - or would be, if his sibling didn't happen to be Brad Pitt.
The world-famous actor's lesser-known brother is the unlikely, but sportsmanly, star of a new Virgin Mobile Australia ad, spoofing his somewhat pedestrian life.
The straight-up suit-wearing Springfield, Missouri, local is seen touring his home, cooking lasagne, shooting (and missing) hoops and indulging in his penchant for classic seventies rock.
"This is Doug Pitt," Doug tells the camera. "The second most famous Pitt in his family."
"This is the family living room, where I usually don't get to pick what's on the TV ... My family doesn't have my appreciation for classic Seventies rock.'
Portrayed as something of an unexclamatory, average dad, he is seen building a bird-house and congratulating himself on his "sporty, stylish" people carrier.
Wearing an apron and chinos, the father-of-three chops vegetables for a lasagne, telling the camera: "I consider myself to be a little bit of a gourmet."
If it all seems rather more suburban than his older brother's glamorous and drama-filled life, that is because it is. Or, at least, that is what Virgin wants us to see.
The ad comes with the tagline, "fair go bro" and aims to deliver a touch of his 'brother's lifestyle" to Doug's life.
Not that Doug is lacking in adventure. It is not known whether the home in the spoof ad is owned by the entrepreneur, but Doug owns a local computer service company, ServiceWorld, and has a number of humanitarian roles.
Director of WorldServe International, a charity providing drinking water across east Africa, he is also advisor to Africa 6000, another water charity, and is a keen photojournalist in addition to being the United Republic of Tanzania's inaugural Goodwill Ambassador.
Similar to Brad in more than just his looks and interest in the developing world, Doug's acting prowess is not to be sniffed at. The ad has already gone viral, amassing 324,034 views since going live a week ago.
