Claire Danes and her British actor husband Hugh Dancy are expecting their first child.

A representative for the 33-year-old actress confirmed the news to People magazine.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in France in 2009. They had met on the set of their movie Evening in 2007.

No other details have been released about the pregnancy but the publication states that Danes's happy news is not expected to impact production of season two of her hit show, Homeland.

Danes has been enjoying tremendous success on the show and won a Golden Globe in January.

When asked last fall if she was hoping to start a family, Danes did not appear to be in a rush.

"There's definitely a chance, no plans yet," she said. "But yeah, that'd be fun."

Danes had dated musician Ben Lee and Almost Famous star Billy Crudup in the past but says she is delighted to have found lasting love.

"I like marriage. I feel very secure," she shared. "It helps when you are in love with the person you are married to. I do sometimes look at him and think, 'You are really handsome.' He keeps me sane and happy."
