Ellen Page has reportedly contacted police after receiving death threats.

The Juno actress has apparently been the subject of violent messages on Twitter. The texts are understood to be from a crazed fan, with Page asking law enforcement officials to investigate after becoming concerned about her safety.

"The LAPD recently sent a search warrant to the micro-blogging site, demanding information regarding two Twitter accounts believed to be associated with an individual bent on killing the actress," reports TMZ.

The legal paperwork shows the messages were posted in June. One states the writer is going to "murder Ellen Page", while another threatens the 25-year-old actress over her personal life.

"Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander [Skarsgard] I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year ... Be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant, or when you're signing autographs (sic)," it states, according to TMZ.

Although the messages have since been deleted, an unknown person phoned a film festival Page was a part of in Los Angeles and told staff of plans to "kill Page".

Page's spokespeople haven't commented on the claims.
