Lindsay Lohan has fled New York for Los Angeles after a violent altercation with her mother.
The 26-year-old actress flew out on Thursday, according to TMZ.
She was scheduled to appear later in the day at a product launch in Beverly Hills.
She is believed to have rushed the trip for personal reasons.
Police were called on Wednesday after Lohan and her mother Dina shared a heated exchange on their way home from a New York City nightclub.
A female voice reported to be Lohan's can be heard in a 911 phone call recording.
The woman on the tape suggests she is being held against her will by Dina and her driver.
The argument allegedly turned physical upon their arrival at her mother's Long Island home, with Lohan suffering a cut to her leg during the scuffle.
The website reports some items of property were also damaged, along with a bracelet Lohan was wearing at the time.
Officers responded to what has been described as a domestic violence call.
The argument reportedly stemmed over a US$40,000 loan Lohan gave her mother to keep their US$1.29 million home out of foreclosure.
Lohan has meanwhile publicly supported her mother.
The actress was pictured awkwardly hugging Dina on the steps of their home after the incident.
She also tweeted: "Miss u @dinalohan" before takeoff.
