Taylor Swift and her beau Harry Styles are heading in different directions, Hollywood sources say.
The pair, who had been dating for just two months, reportedly called it quits on their romance after what has been dubbed an "almighty row" while on vacation in the British Virgin Islands.
The couple rang in 2013 together and were seen kissing as the ball dropped in New York City's Times Square before heading on vacation.
The Daily Mail said Swift, 22, flew home from their vacation early, leaving Styles, 18, to holiday alone.
The source said: "yes I can confirm they have split up".
"'They were on holiday and had an almighty row. They are two young stars at the top of their game so who knows what will happen in the future."
After spending Christmas apart the pair had jetted off to the British Virgin Islands on New Year's Day to spend some time together.
But things did not go to plan and Taylor ended the holiday early, flying back to the US on her own after just three days on vacation on January 4.
Since then, Styles' Twitter feed has been overloaded with pictures of him partying and enjoying the company of young fans.
The pair's parents were reportedly relieved as there were fears they were moving too fast anyway.
Styles' One Direction band mates had previously voiced their concern when the two, collectively known has Haylor, got together.
They had grave fears Swift would prove their undoing, calling her the "Yoko Ono" of One Direction.
The songstress is notorious for turning past loves into number one hits. Her exes include Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jack Gyllenhall and most recently Conor Kennedy.
Swift's first tweet of 2013 was on January 6, saying: "...'til you put me down" a quote from her hit single I Knew You Were Trouble.
