It's OK, we can all relax and stop worrying that actress Jennifer Lawrence is going to need years of therapy after her Christian Dior Couture dress apparently ripped at the Screen Actors Guild Award ceremony yesterday.

The midnight blue floor-length gown appeared to tear at mid-thigh as the starlet made her way to the stage to collect an award, apparently leaving celebs like Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard open-mouthed with shock and amusement.

However, USA Today reports that the famous French fashion house has refuted claims of poor workmanship.

"The dress is made with different levels of tulle and satin and that is what the viewers saw when Jennifer lifted her dress slightly. It was not ripped and there was no malfunction... it was the design of the gown," a statement from the fashion design house said.

Thank goodness for that. Still, it's better to be looked over than overlooked, right?
