Paparazzi chase blamed for crash
Chris Brown has been involved in a car accident. The singer was driving in Los Angeles when he was involved in a collision with two other vehicles, Beverly Hills Police said.
No injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for the singer said Chris was being aggressively followed by paparazzi at the time of the incident.
The representative told TMZ the singer began to back down an alley to avoid being tailed.
“The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle,” the spokesperson said.
The singer was reportedly cut off by two other vehicles as he backed down the alley.
His car was totalled. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
His spokesperson blamed the incident on photographers.
“Chris' vehicle was totalled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay,” the statement continued.
Beverly Hills Police are still investigating the incident.
Chris was reportedly driving to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy for a charity event supporting his Symphonic Love Foundation. He still made it to the event.
The 23-year-old singer was just in court on Wednesday for his probation case hearing. Prosecutors have accused Chris of submitting fraudulent documents logging court-ordered community service hours following his 2009 conviction for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, has refuted the claims.
The singer has since reconciled with Rihanna and she supported him by appearing in court.
Chris remains under a five-year probation period for her assault. The case is ongoing.
