Michelle Williams and Jason Segel have reportedly called it quits on their romance.
The 32-year-old My Week with Marilyn actress and the 33-year-old Bad Teacher actor began dating at the beginning of 2012.
Although the couple have purposefully kept their affair out of the public eye, they appeared to be happy as recently as January. In this first month of 2013, Williams and Segel were photographed enjoying themselves while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico.
Sources tell Us Weekly that although they have love for each other, their relationship was destroyed by long distance. Segel is based in Los Angeles, where he films sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and Williams lives with her seven-year-old daughter Matilda in New York City.
Apparently Williams and Segel decided to quietly end their affair in early February.
This news may come as a shock to many in the couple's milieu, as several believed they might even tie the knot.
"You should hear Matilda talk - she wants to be a flower girl, and she tells her mom she wants a little sister," a source told National Enquirer previously.
"She knows that won't happen if Momma doesn't marry Jason - so she's pushing for it. Jason lives to make Michelle laugh and that's pretty hard for a gal to resist. Plus, he's shown he'd make a great daddy. Bet on a marriage by the end of the year."
Matilda's father is the late actor Heath Ledger, who passed away in 2008 from an accidental prescription drug overdose.
