Azealia Banks speaks about her stoush with Russell Crowe
Musician Azealia Banks has spoken out about her altercation with Russell Crowe, telling a very different story to other eyewitness accounts.
Banks has filed a battery report with Beverly Hills police after an altercation with Crowe during a dinner party in the Gladiator star's hotel room.
Banks says she was racially abused, spat on, choked and thrown out of Crowe's hotel room.
Speaking to E! News, Banks said she was originally at the Beverly Hills hotel for a meeting with the rapper and film director RZA, who cast Crowe in his film The Man With the Iron Fists.

Banks attended the dinner party as RZA's guest, and described the other attendees as a "old Hollywood dudes".
She claimed she joked with them about making horror movies and poked fun at their work. However, feelings got hurt and an angry Crowe told her:
"Hey, you haven't done anything in your career, so you have no right to tell him about horror."
Afterwards, another drunk woman started getting aggressive towards her. Banks warned:
"If I throw something at you and you get hurt, then the party is going to be done. Then we're all going to look bad and it's going to be a terrible night."
Banks claimed Crowe turned to her and leaned in to whisper in her ear. "Even if you tried, you wouldn't even get close enough, you n----r."
"Next thing you know, I'm getting choked up, I'm getting dragged out of this room and spat on. I felt betrayed, I felt humiliated, I felt low. It almost felt like a set-up," Banks said.
Other eyewitnesses told TMZ a different version of the events leading up to Banks' ejection from the party, saying she had threatened to stab guests with a broken glass. Crowe grabbed her in a "bear hug" and carried her into the hotel corridor, they said.
Banks said she was pressing charges because Crowe had refused to apologise. "I didn't want to press charges because dealing with the police, dealing with the courts is such an inconvenient thing. I don't want this happening. They say I'm doing this for attention. Who wants this kind of attention?" she said.
"He doesn't get it. He thinks I'm just some little black girl from Harlem that doesn't have any backing. They think they can just frame me."
Crowe has not commented on the evenings events.
