Seal caught in a 'lie' after Twitter rant
Seal should stay away from social media.
The singer tweeted his disgust after Australian police raided the hotel room of his friend and fellow coach on The Voice, Joel Madden (read about it here).
He lashed out the Australian media, saying he was done with the country and couldn't "wait to go home" (see the full rant below).
Then, possibly realising how much money he was making from the talent show, he deleted the tweets, replacing them with an apology.
"I want to apologise for my rant earlier. Joel is one of my best friends and I was really hurting for him," he posted.
"I want to say I have loved being in Australia, I've loved working on The Voice and with an incredibly talented group of Australian artists."
All well and good, but then he went and offered up the following as an excuse:
"It’s been almost 11 weeks away from my kids and me saying 'I can’t wait to go home' was me missing being home with them."
Which has landed him in more trouble, because his children are with him in Sydney.
Aussie entertainment guru Peter Ford exposed Seal's "deception" on Melbourne radio station 3AW this morning: "You kind of think 'oh yeah, you would be on edge away from your kids for 11 weeks.'
"But then I went back and checked the facts: his kids are in Sydney with him now. How low is that?
"What idiot does Seal think we are in Australia that he can try and justify his bad behaviour and being so ungrateful to this country for the very high-paying gig that he's got ... by using his kids as an excuse where in fact his kids were actually with him at the time?"
Staff at Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney's western suburbs confirmed that Seal and his children had visited the park on Monday.
They even posted a picture of the singer holding a wombat on the park's Facebook account.
"Seal spent about two hours at Featherdale park and he and his kids loved the animals such as the koalas, kangaroos and dingo pup," park marketing manager Kellie Ames told news.com.au.
