He's perfectly smouldering hot

I would have preferred Charlie Hunnam

So far, the only glimpse we've had of Fifty Shades of Grey's leading man is from the back, a tagline teasing: "Mr Grey will see you now."

But now, fans of E.L James' wildly successful erotic novel have got their first official look at Christian Grey.

A newly released still from the upcoming film adaptation shows actor Jamie Dornan as Grey, smouldering as he sits in the driver's seat of his sports car.

But while most fans seemed happy with the former Calvin Klein model's brooding gaze, some were still pining for Sons of Anarchy actor Charlie Hunnam.

Initially cast in the role, Hunnam recently revealed quitting the project was a "heartbreaking" decision.

"If only Charlie Hunnam held on to this role" one fan pined on the movie's Facebook page.

Another put it simply: "Nope. Not the one."

The Fifty Shades of Grey film is due for US release next Valentine's Day.

What do you think, does Jamie Dornan fits the bill as Christian Grey?
