Chris Noth will reprise his role as Mr Big in the new Sex and the City movie.
The actor - who played Carrie Bradshaw’s husband in the first film as well as all six TV series - will now join the rest of his co-stars in the highly anticipated sequel, after previously being the only major cast member who hadn’t signed a contract.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays fashion-obsessed writer Carrie, confirmed the news at the Tribeca Film Festival but wouldn’t elaborate on any of the stories, insisting: "I don't know anything yet."
It had recently been reported some pivotal scenes of the movie would be shot in London after Carrie and Big move to the UK city.
A source said: "The sequel will include key scenes of Carrie Bradshaw and her husband Big in London, possibly shooting this winter for six weeks.
"Big loses a lot of money and takes a job in London, living alone in a one-bedroom apartment without the five-star luxuries he is used to. Big gets really low and ends up in bed with another woman. He tells Carrie everything and she flies out to confront him. After she leaves him she discovers she is pregnant."
The movie - which will be released in May - could also see Gilles Marini reprise his role as Samantha’s Jones’ love interest, after playing the PR guru’s sexy neighbour Dante in the first film.
Parker said: "I don't have a clue. I don't know anything specific about a story for him, but it's very possible."
