Transformers star Megan Fox has been slammed as "dumb-as-a-rock", "ungracious" and "classless" by fellow crew members from the blockbuster film, who also said the actress would be better off pursuing a porn career.

The three crew members tore into Fox in defence of Transformers director Michael Bay, after Fox likened him to Napolean Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler during a recent interview.

In an open letter that was posted on Bay's website, the three unnamed crew members - who said they had worked with Bay for 10 years - said it was Fox who was unprofessional and a "grump of the set".

"Yes, Megan has great eyes, a tight stomach we spray with glycerin, and an awful silly Marilyn Monroe tattoo plastered on her arm that we cover up to keep the moms happy," the letter said.

"When facing the press, Megan is the queen of talking trailer trash and posing like a porn star.

"And yes we've had the unbearable time of watching her try to act on set, and yes, it's very cringe-able.

"So maybe, being a porn star in the future might be a good career option."

They said Bay had picked Fox - a "shy, inexperienced girl" - from obscurity and turned her into a star.

"And who is the real Megan Fox?

"She's as about ungracious a person as you can ever fathom.

"Maybe she will learn, but we figure if she can sling insults, then she can take them too.

"Megan really is a thankless, classless, graceless, and shall we say unfriendly bitch."

In her interview with a British magazine, Fox had said of Bay: “He's like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation.

“He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. He has no social skills at all."

Bay wrote on his website that Fox's comments were part of her charm, and that he did not condone the crew members' response.

"I don't condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don't condone Megan's outlandish quotes. But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm.

"The fact of the matter is I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3."

But the crew members signed off their letter imploring Bay to "squish her character in the first ten minutes of Transformers 3".

"We can tell you that will make the crew happy!"
