A woman has been shot in a theatre while watching a screening of James Cameron's Avatar in New Mexico.
The Albuquerque Journal reported the woman was shot in the ankle on Saturday night during an incident involving three people, about halfway through Avatar.
The victim's injuries were not life threatening, and she had not been intentionally targeted, the Albuquerque Journal reported.
Police had taken two people into custody, and were seeking a third.
Theatre goers started fleeing the cinema after reportedly hearing two gun shots. Armed police swarmed the building and patrons were evacuated.
One viewer told SlashFilm.com: "I heard two loud pops and saw one of the flashes near the bottom left of the theatre, near the ground floor. Not long after random people started getting up and running out."
Fireworks were also reportedly let off during the screening.
