Evan Rachel Wood has admitted she asked Kate Winslet for advice before filming the first nude scene of her career.
Evan stars alongside the Oscar-winning actress in upcoming HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce and they have recently been filming in New York as director Todd Haynes adapts the 1945 Joan Crawford movie for the small screen.
Winslet takes the title role as a single mother who decides to open a restaurant, causing friction with her eldest daughter Veda, played by Wood.
While Wood has worked steadily since her childhood, she has yet to show her flesh onscreen and decided to ask her experienced co-star for help, she has revealed.
"I had my first full-blown nude scene," the 22-year-old told the British edition of Elle magazine.
"I was quite nervous about it and Kate looked at me and said, 'Listen to me, alright. I've done everything, alright. And one day you're going to look back on this and you're going to be so happy you've done it. And it'll be great, just do it. OK?' I couldn't really say no."
Winslet has appeared naked onscreen on several occasions, with the star going topless in Titanic , Jude and The Reader among others.
Wood may have taken advice from her older colleague but it was the younger actress who attracted the most attention while filming the "emotionally draining" Mildred Pierce.
"I've started to get fans now," she explained. "It's weird. I was on set and there were all these girls lined up on the sidewalk, and I assumed they were all there for Kate, and they all shouted at the same time, 'Evan Rachel Wood, we love you!' and I didn't know to say so I just said, 'I love you, too!' I was so shy - that had never happened to be before."
The cast of Mildred Pierce also includes Guy Pearce and Melissa Leo.
