Put on your dancing shoes - a new trailer for the 2011 remake of Footloose has been unveiled.

The iconic 1984 film, which starred Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer and made a monster hit out of the Kenny Loggins soundtrack single, has been remade for an October release.

The new film is directed by Craig Brewer and stars Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough.

Brewer has said the new film will stay true to the original, but with more "Southern grit".

The original is known for an iconic dance sequence by Bacon's character, who is trying to overturn a ban on dancing and rock music in his small town.

Since the 1984 film, Footloose has been made into musicals and stage shows, but Brewer's update is the first film remake.
