A New Zealand fantasy film is one step closer to being made after it secured a slot to ask movie backers in New York for financial support.
The Changeover will be presented at the No Borders International Co-Production Market, which offers film-makers a chance to pitch projects in development to potential financial partners.
The Changeover - part teenage romance, part supernatural thriller - is an adaptation of Margaret Mahy's 1984 novel of the same name.
It is being written, directed and co-produced by Stuart McKenzie, with fellow Wellingtonians Miranda Harcourt and Angela Littlejohn listed as his co-producers.
To be eligible for the market, scripts must have 20 per cent of financing secured. The Changeover was granted $25,000 from the New Zealand Film Commission last year.
