Hobbit fans can return to Bilbo Baggins' Hobbit hole in the comfort of their own home from May 1.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which went on general release in December, will appear on DVD and in three disc and four disk versions of high definition Blu-ray. Both Blu-ray releases will include 130 minutes of behind the scenes material.
The announcement made no mention of an extended cut of the film.
Warner Brothers Home Entertainment, which announced the release date today, also offered media a special sneak peak of the second movie in the series, The Desolation of Smaug, later in the month.
