MTV UK helps decipher Julian Dennison's Kiwi accent video

Is our Kiwi accent really so indecipherable? MTV UK seems to think so.

Julian Dennison seems happy to explain Kiwi slang in overseas interviews, but it seems everything he said needed explaining in the latest for MTV UK.

The clip posted to MTV UK's Facebook page, featured the Hunt for the Wilderpeople star explaining some "Kiwi Slang You Probably Didn't Know".

But it turns out that understanding "skux" and "chur" might be less of a problem for MTV's UK audience than actually understanding Dennison at all.

Unlike the page's other videos, his featured subtitles for the entire duration of the clip.

Promoting the Taika Waititi-driected Hunt for the Wilderpeople, which has opened in UK cinemas, Dennison said in the three-minute clip that he'd recently met Liam Neeson, adding that New Zealand was a "very uplifting country".
