The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 trailer teases love, laughs and baby Groot
Space suits are for emergencies... and fun, according to the new trailer for Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, which landed on Thursday morning.
There are no story hints, no really big action set pieces and nothing blows up - but the 1.24 minute teaser is jam packed with Guardians personality and a little punk attitude.
In one scene Gamora (Zoe Saldana) takes a running leap into the unknown. In another, her "evil" sister nebula, who was last seen legging it from the scene of her crimes, is on her knees with a bag over her mechanical head.
The main segment belongs to the stoic Drax the Destroyer (David Bautista) however, who affectionately tells a lovelorn Starlord (Chris Pratt) "You just need to find a woman who is pathetic, like you. Do you need a hug?"

A poster for the teaser (yes, they do those now too), which shows the gang - including the dodgy Yondu Udonda (Michael Rooker) and Nebula - looking like a 70s punk band, dropped on Thursday too.
The first movie, which came out in 2014 and was directed by James Gunn (Super, Dawn of the Dead), made more than NZ$1 billion worldwide.
The original ended with Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) being reborn as a baby sapling. There's a glimpse of baby Groot in the trailer.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 hits theatres on May 5, 2017.
