Directed by Colin Trevorrow. Starring Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplas, Jake Johnson.

Inspired by a ''wanted'' ad that appeared in an American newspaper some years ago, Safety Not Guaranteed is the story of a young journalist chasing down a man who says he wants to go back in time.

What starts as nothing but a quirky and probably quite cruel ''human interest'' story then morphs into something more. And before you can say ''didn't see that coming'', love is in the air, and the idea of travelling back 10 years to save the life of someone you loved starts to seem like it might just be possible. This is an indie comedy which wears its credentials with great pride.

The script is zesty and fresh, the performances are committed and charming, and the pacing is bouncy and excellent. I do like a film that is unashamedly silly and yet utterly romantic. Safety Not Guaranteed, slight though it may be, is quite impossible not to like.
