Watch German director Roland Emmerich taking on the White House. Again.
His latest action thriller sees Channing Tatum portraying Capitol Policeman John Cale who had just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx).
Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group.
Now, with the nation's government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.
Emmerich has a proven track record for wrecking carnage at the White House. In his 1996 hit Independence Day aliens blew up Pennsylvania Avenue, three years ago he used a tsunami and an aircraft carrier to destroy the mansion in disaster movie 2012 and this year he sends Tatum into the battle.
"I always jokingly say that they should put a plaque somewhere in one of the rooms," Emmerich told HuffPost Entertainment. "Or my portrait: 'The man who destroyed the White House the most.'"
