Video games controlled by your pee, coming to a bar near you
A regular chore for blokes at the pub has become something of a novelty, with the ability to play video games like car racing or soccer at the urinal.
Captive Media video game urinals have been a hit in Christchurch. Now the Christchurch-based franchise owners are expanding.
The "Xbox for the penis" interactive urinal units can be found at Christchurch bars Dux Central and Bealey's Speight's Alehouse, and in Auckland's bar Little Easy.
Now, 25 more bars across the major cities will have two video game machine urinals installed in the men's bathrooms.

The digital screens are controlled by proximity sensors when the individual steps up to the urinal, and the sensors are controlled by the stream of pee.
Users can play games such as soccer or car racing while going to the bathroom.
"Everybody loves it," said co-owner Nicholas Henare, a Christchurch real estate agent. "People have fun with it."
Henare and his long-term friend and business partner Jonny Kirkpatrick are on the hunt for the venues to host their urinal units in major cities, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
"The product's done. We've seen it work in Europe. It's not rocket science," Henare said.
Henare said installing the first round of units in 2015 was a "soft release".
A partner company, which will remain unnamed, has fronted the "quarter of a million" needed to expand the brand.
Fifty urinal interactive units "are ready to ship".
"We really needed to expand to do it properly," Henare said.
The special urinals were installed at the Bealey's Speight's Alehouse in Christchurch in November 2015 when the bar and restaurant reopened post-quake.
Co-owner Darryll Park said the games were a great novelty factor for the bar.
"t's entertainment taken to another level. It's a lot of fun. People enjoy it. It's become the norm after 18 months."
Henare said now it was about hand-picking the best bars "and just going for it".
"We've been working on this for years," he said. "We hope to get the ball rolled out in the next six months."
The units are an ideal advertising platform, Henare said, be it cars, beverages or clothing targeted at the market of men aged 18-36 at the bar's urinals.
