Fifty years ago today Aucklanders had witnessed the Beatles play an iconic show at Auckland Town Hall and were gearing up for another tonight.

A similar situation is occurring now after tribute concert A Strange Day's Night kicked off last night and finishes this evening - with Beatles' songs rocking the same stage once again.

The concert is a fund-raiser for Play it Strange and the show features more than 150 New Zealand artists covering the full breadth of Beatles' music.

Musicians such as Tim Finn, Graham Brazier, Jordan Luck, Eddie Rayner, Fiona Macdonald and SJD are scattered across the two day line up.

Emerging young performers from secondary schools across Auckland are also performing.

On Friday 'The Beatles 50th Anniversary Tour Relived' will be presented at Auckland Town Hall, starring the Fabulous Beatle Boys.
