Queen with Adam Lambert has announced one New Zealand show at Auckland’s Vector Arena on September 3. 

The Once In A Lifetime tour marks the first Queen tour of New Zealand since 1985. 

‘‘Let’s rock those beautiful arenas just one more time,’’ said band member Brian May. 

The 24-date North American tour started in Chicago a month ago and received  rave reviews.

The musicians first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of We Are The Champions. 

In 2012 Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. 

Referring to the late Freddie Mercury, Queen’s former frontman, Lambert said: ‘‘I’m honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band.’’

Pre-sale tickets will be available from Ticketmaster and Dainty Group from 9am on Monday. General sale tickets go on sale at 9am on July 24.
