Just a week after attending the funeral of his old bandmate Stephen Gately, former Boyzone star Ronan Keating has announced plans to tour New Zealand.
Keating is to perform at three Kiwi wineries in February.
Last weekend Keating delivered a eulogy to Gately, 33, at his Dublin funeral, describing him as "a man, a friend, a brother, a son, a hero".
Choking back tears, Keating said Boyzone would "pray for his guidance to now show us the way. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say that the world has lost one of its brightest stars".
Gately died while on holiday with his partner in Majorca. Autopsy reports confirmed he suffered an acute pulmonary oedema - or sudden build-up of fluid in the lungs - thought to have been caused by a heart attack.
Since leaving Boyzone several years ago, Keating, 32, has forged a hugely successful solo career, and his album sales have topped 22 million worldwide. He has remained close to his former band mates.
This week he is in Australia to launch his new album, Stay, billed as a collection of traditional and modern classics. It is his seventh since his 1999 solo album, when single When You Say Nothing At All entered the charts at No. 1 and became one of his signature tunes.
Keating will perform at the Mudhouse Winery, Waipara, on February 5, followed by consecutive nights at Church Rd Winery, Napier, and Villa Maria Estate Winery, Auckland. He will be joined by local artists the Peter Urlich Sextet and Matt Joe Gow.
Tickets go on sale on November 6 from Ticketmaster.
