American Idol's first ever winner, pop star Kelly Clarkson, has announced she will perform a single New Zealand show in April.
Clarkson will perform a single show at Auckland's Vector Arena on April 11 next year, before heading to Australia for five shows.
Clarkson won American Idol in 2002, and has had a string of chart-busting singles including Since You’ve Been Gone, Because of You and My Life Would Suck Without You.
Clarkson has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, is the highest-selling Idol winner in history and had eight top 10 singles. She has won two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, two MTV Awards and 11 Billboard Awards.
Eric Hutchinson will open for Clarkson on her Australasian tour.
Tickets for the show go on sale on November 12.

Glad my bf saw reason and bought me the ticket, i know how to twist his finger hehe. Next thing gotta save up for Merchindise its going to be SOOOO COOL.!!!!
Would Love to go but needs to be in Christchurch why do they never come down here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I may go to see her in Auckland, but would be great if she came to Wellington to.
Kelly is one of the most amazing singers out there. I don't understand why she can only have ONE show. What if we don't get tickets for that one show? And what about all those people in the South Island? I'm a huge fan of Kelly Clarkson so I'll definitely try my best to get tickets.
