Just six months ago she was here opening for The Pussycat Dolls, but chart-topping pop star Lady Gaga is now big enough to be headlining her own show.

Lady Gaga, singer of hits Paparazzi, Just Dance and Poker Face, has announced her second New Zealand performance in under a year, to be held at Auckland's Vector Arena on March 13.

She last performed in New Zealand at the same venue as the opening act for the Pussycat Dolls on May 16, at one stage baring her bottom and simulating masturbation to the crowd.

Stuff.co.nz reviewer Clio Francis said: "With back-up dancers in tow and dressed in a kooky newspaper print one-piece, Gaga stamped her dominance on the crowd as she stormed around the stage, at one point simulating masturbation.

"She sung much of (Poker Face) standing on a stool in sky-high stilettos, bent double over the piano hammering out the keys."

Poker Face has been a No. 1 hit in New Zealand, and her tour coincides with a re-release of her album The Fame.

Tickets for the one-off show go on sale on December 3.

lady gago does not write her own music, that is just a story spun by the record companies to sell more cds.

Tommy   #38   08:05 am Nov 23 2009

Well actually, she does write her own songs. And other people's songs too. By the way, I don't like her style of music.

@ #32

Her singles are successes, commercially and critically. And here's a big surprise for you: She writes her own music.

Lady Gaga is not at all like Britney Spears. She sings live, and has a high level of precision on stage too. Check out some performances on YouTube.

well actually, Lady Gaga does write her own music based on everything around her and her music is artistic and beautiful. Lady Gaga has the strength to express her sexuality for a music and it is great to see a woman that is real and honest.

Clare   #34   02:49 pm Nov 22 2009

Good stuff - shes not really my genre, but that woman can certainly sing and perform - she is the real thing. And Jim - do your research before you open your mouth - Lady Gaga writes and arranges her own music.
