As far as one-hit wonders go, Daniel Powter is king of them all - for this decade, at least.

Powter, whose hit Bad Day reigned on top of the Billboard pop charts for five weeks in 2006, was named as the decade's worst one-hit wonder by Billboard

The magazine describes one-hit wonders as acts whose second hit did not reach the top 25; they only included acts from 2000 to 2007, since someone from last year might just be taking a break.

No. 2 on their list is the Terror Squad for Lean Back; No. 3 is Crazy Town with Butterfly; No. 4 is MIMS with This Is Why I'm Hot; and No. 5 is D4L - remember them? - with Laffy Taffy.

Why the hell isn't Crazy Frog listed?

The list has been put together by Billboard, which, first of all, means that these are referring to one-hit wonders on the US charts. Daniel Powter has actually had two hits in NEW ZEALAND (Bad Day and Free Loop).

It seems that the list has been made based on the success of the actual song itself, not based on how 'good' the song is. All of these songs reached number one in the USA, Bad Day was the number one single of 2006 (end of year chart), so it is fitting that that song is number one.

Who Let The Dogs Out? and the Ketchup Song would be candidates for the biggest one hit wonder of the 2000s in New Zealand, but not in the USA because they didn't reach number one.

Out of all of these songs, i personally think This Is Why I'm Hot is the worse!

@ White Guy, and you think demonic yelling and screaming into the microphone is?

Rap & hip hop isn't even music.

@Vampz #33: Those songs are all from the '00s. I just stuffed up and put nineties instead.

i think some of you need to learn how to read things better. it states that they only had 1 hit. not that they are bad musicans .... take a little time to read things a bit better. H #22 i agree those hits are more 1 hit wonders then those others...

It has to be that Ketchup Song or Who Let the Dogs Out, yuck!

Oh and whoever said "Michael Jackson and Beetles were one-hit wonders in the past. Look at them now!" - a "one hit wonder" is someone who has one hit and then disappears off the charts...which neither of them did.

Ahhhh don't you just love the rich tapestry of life.

There was I clicking the links, going "Man, how was Crazy Town's Butterfly not voted the worst song of all time?" then I read the posts and find people prepared to say they are fans of the band.

Good for you I say. My taste in music would probably make you scream too.

@ H #22 - While I agree with some of your song choices, this particular poll was for the 00 decade not the 90's.
